PACEMAKER/DEFIBULATOR IMPLANT

I had my Pacemaker/Defibulator installed November 3, 2017.  I am 86  years old.  My recovery has not been what I expected.  Yes I have gotten color back in my face, but I find I can't "go for a walk" without tiring and feeling "shortness of breath".  I don't expect too much improvement because of my age, but would just like to be able to move around a bit...go for short walks.....I use to fast walk at least a mile a day...I was given Entresto by my Cardfiologist....It seems that has "helped" a little but not much.  Is this normal, and will it get better ?  Thanks.

If you were walking a mile before, you should be able to walk a mile now. It's common to need to adjust the settings. Write down the day/time you are walking and having problems, they can see what the pacer was doing at those times. It could be as simple as the pacer just needs to get your rate up higher when you walk.

You know you're wired when...

Your pacemaker receives radio frequencies.

I am just thankful that I am alive and that even though I have this pacemaker it is not the end of the world.
