Grateful PM newbie

Just wanted to say a quick hello to my new online family!

I had my first PM implanted last week and I admit I’ve been browsing the forums weeks before - and after - without actually participating. Not to sound creepy haha, I just think it took longer than I expected to admit to myself that “this is actually happening” and to simply get used to the tremendous change in my life.

Without your even knowing it, you have all helped me with the messages you’ve written over the months/years, which I was able to relate to and which also infused a lot of optimism into my life. To know that someone, out there, truly understands, is invaluable!

Thank you all and I hope to get to know more about you, as time goes by.

Much love and stay strong, Elise

Thank you, Grateful Heart!

I think you’re spot on about things getting better from here. For me, personally, the long wait until i had some kind of diagnosis, the wait in hospital, the wait for the right PM to arrive, the wait for the actual surgery to happen - these were all way worse. That thing about “fighting a known enemy being easier than dealing with uncertainty” springs to mind!

So lucky to have found you all. Something tells me I’ll be having all sorts of crazy questions as time goes by, so bear with me, haha! Elise

Welcome, Elise

Don't worry about not contributing thus far.  I'm sure you'll be paying it forward, just like everyone else here, soon enough.  Welcome to the group and I hope your experience is as easy and as positive as mine has been.  Every day will get better.

welcome!

Thank you so much for welcoming me to the flock, AgentX86!

Swangirl, so great to hear your PM made such a difference! Never even thought about how this will affect overall health, including vision and whatnot - hey, maybe my migraine days are over!

TraceyE, I am so glad as well. Thanks for messaging!

Robin1, love me a success story! Also, I’m elated that my lurking days are officially over - so far it’s been great to hear from all of you!

You know you're wired when...

You can finally prove that you have a heart.
