Ablation recovery time??

Hi I've just had what I'm told was a succesful ablation for VT. (19th July/18)

How long doe it take to recover post ablation?

I was in theater for aprroximately 4.5 hours under general aneathetic. The incision in my groin and wrist are fine just a little sore, but I feel totally shattered, I'm dragging myself around the house at the moment, I feel exhausted within 20 mins of getting out of bed, I'm also quite light headed Pre-op I was better than this.

I have checked my blood pressure every other day, and it's still in my boots at around 84/60. Pre op I was typically 115-120/70

Anaesthetics

Regardless  of the reason for your anaesthetic, you are going to feel rough after 4.5 hours of it. Our GP reckons you need a week off work for every quarter hour under anaesthetic. Perfectly natural to feel so exhausted after such a short time.

It's not clear what sort of ablation you had (I've had three left atrial ablations for Aflutter and an AV node ablation).  I fully recovered from all of them within a day or two.  In all cases I went back to work the day after leaving the hospital.  Not to say that's the norm but your symptoms aren't either.

With a BP that low, it's no wonder you're feeling like crap. What does your EP have to say about your BP?  What sort of meds are you on?  What is your HR? I'd be all over my EP for answers.

I am just now 40 but have had these blackouts all my life. I am thrilled with the pacer and would do it all over again.
