Cost of pacemaker transmittings

Hi,

I am new to this forum. It will be two weeks tomorrow since I had my pacemaker put in. My insurance told me my co-pays would be at least $50. a day and could be up to $100.00 a day. Is this what everyone has to pay? I have Federal Blue Cross/Blue Shield. This scares me almost into a panic attack. What if I can't pay, will they shut it down?  These are probably ridiculous questions for some of you. I just need to know. Thanks and I do have alot more to ask but am too tired to sit here typing.

What company is your device?

I pay nothing to the company for transmitting.  I assume we paid for it up front with the purchase of the pm.

My EP charges a flat fee quarterly for looking at the transmissions, if one or 20 are sent.  Check with you EP or whomever received and reads your transmissions.

Thanks so much. My pacemaker is from Boston Scientific. I really appreciate your answer.

I have BC/BS and haven't received bills for transmisions, for sure not daily checks. It does a full download every 3 months. I got a $20-$30 bill a couple of times for that but usually nothing. When I used to go in for checks every 3 months (before I got the monitor), they never cost more than $30 or so either. The only time it gets expensive is when it needs replaced because our deductible is obscenely high.

Thank you so much for answering, I found out today it will only be $40. out of pocket. That is what the hospital checked out for me. My insurance co. was way off. Thank God.

I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for pacemakers. I've had mine for 35+ years. I was fainting all of the time and had flat-lined also. I feel very blessed to live in this time of technology.
