Side effects of pacemaker install

I had a CRT-P installed two weeks ago. Had to go 4 days without Diebetic medicines. My blood sugar in mornings was 130-150. Now it's 175-200. Same diet, same meds. It did not do this three years ago on first pacemaker. Meds appear not to work now. Anyone have similiar?

Adjust medications

You  may need to adjust medications.  However you'll want to work with your diabetic doctor to do that.  It may be the numbers will settle down on their own but if you're both watching I really wouldn't get too concerned.  The big number to watch is the A1C number and that may not change that quickly.

Problem being increased blood flow.  Better digestion, more food stuff moving through the blood stream and your numbers go out of whack.  Of course the increased blood flow makes you feel better - more oxygen to all the body parts so it gets to be a toss up.  Do I get increased blood flow making me feel better and have my diabetic numbers go out of whack?  Or do I go back to the way I was, feel worse, and have my diabetic numbers go back to what they were?  Of course you can't go back now but it's always a trade off.

The diabetic association has something out about if your numbers and A1C are a little high but they're consistent, you shouldn't worry.  They've eased up on the diabetic numbers in the last few months but most diabetic doctors don't go along with the new findings.

My numbers are all over the place.  For me it's gotten to be - if I like the food, I can't have it.  I swear my diabetic doctor would like me to just quit eating all together.  I might starve to death but I won't have died from diabetes and that would be a win in his case.  Right now he's either got my blood sugar crashing through the floor or my A1C is way up.  No happy medium.  Was falling asleep from one medication - just be sitting there, fall asleep, and almost fall off the chair.  Called the diabetic doctor's office.  Told me to keep taking the medication.  I said, "How about I fall asleep in rush hour traffic, kill myself, and kill someone else?  I wouldn't have died from being a diabetic but I'd be dead anyway."  They backed off on that one.

Keep track of your blood sugar numbers.  Watch your diet.  Stay on your medications.  Hang in there.  Hope they get you under control quickly..
