Will the home monitor detect a broken/loose lead?

It won't but the tech running it from the other end of the phone line will. If it's broken or has come loose, the impedance of the lead will increase and it'll be obvious. However, if it's intermittent (loose), it may not be seen immediately. If it's not broke, it can't be fixed.

If the impedance changes or it's no longer pacing, it will set off an alert that they will see when they review the report. I had a bad lead for 5+ years before we did anything about it. Every interrogation had a big giant warning telling us about it.

tracey, my last remote interrogation showed "noise" in upper chamber.  i was told  by tech that if i had a bad lead, it could cause an unnecessary shock?  you went 5 years?  im waiting to hear from doc.
