throat pain?pain taking deep breath

I had a Biotronic closed loop pacemaker inseted May 23.   Last weekend and now later this afternoon after working in the garden have this very pulsating sensation and pain inhaling in my throat.   i actually was sent to the ER last weekend, and they did an interrogation, EKG, Cat scan of my chest and extensive blood work.   I wasn't hooked up to a constant heart monitor as I am allergic to the pads.   Nothing showed up, other than my usually very low blood pressure was in a more normal range, (high for me).   Anyone experience this?   With minimal exertion it pulses hard in my throat.   It lasted two days and was gone then last weekend, only to return today.   I had just done a workout on a bike at the gym, and then was doing some light gardening.  thx for any feedback.

Pacemaker implant

Right after my pacemaker implant I had pain on my left side going up into my jaw.  I used to get muscle spasms on my left side too.  I also had a lot of pain in the implant site and where the leads go under the collar bone.  

There was a lot of other pain too as they had done CPR and had pretty well beat the stuffing out of me.  As soon as I could I started going to a licensed massage therapist in an effort to get rid of the pain.  Emphasis on licensed and therapist.  My therapist had some instruction to find out what not to do around the implant site.  She was able to really work out the kinks and got rid of a lot of pain.  

Upshot of the therapy was stimulation of nerves on the left side where the leads go in under the collar bone.  It was causing spasms on the left side of my neck in the rhomboid and underlying muscles.  It took a couple of years for the spasms to go away even with the massage therapy.  Won't forget the first time the rhomboid muscles finally relaxed enough to be stretched out.  

Based upon what happened to me and the description you've given it sounds like you have a similar problem.  While the muscles aren't sore in day-to-day activity they still are sensitive and give you problems if you do some strenuous activity.  

If your medical insurance will allow it I can suggest going with physical therapy along with the standard hot packs, cold packs, and tylenol.  The newer physical therapists say you shouldn't hurt after a workout.  If you have pain they haven't done their job correctly.  You'll still leave the therapy session tired but not sore.  Not everyone is a fan of massage therapy but if you go that way make sure to get a licensed massage therapist.  Let them know about the pacemaker implant site.

Since you didn't go through CPR I feel you'll feel better much more quickly than I did.

Throat pain

so had a 2 d echocardiogram today.  Found out last week at the emergency room they saw a small amount of fluid around my heart via the CT.  No one told me.   The pain started yesterday again so found out there is even more fluid but still small amount but doctor wants to reposition a lead he thinks is causing this.  Anyone else go through this.  I am 10 weeks post implant.  Ugh.

I had this problem immediately post insertion.  The medical team determined that the pericardial effusion was too small to drain.  I was sent home with colchicine, an anti-gout medication that works for pericarditis.  I did not have to have the leads repositioned.  My issue resolved in approximately  days.
