New to pacemaker

Just got my PM on Thursday. My left arm is sore. I feel that’s probably to be expected however my bicep is “hard” (harder than it usually is. It actually feels like i have a muscle there 😜)and it feels like someone has got a grip on it. If you touch it, it hurts. My arm is swollen but not too bad but it does ache. Does this sound like its normal?

Trust me.  You're going to get tired of people telling you "it's normal".  ;-)

The same thing happened to me.  My shoulder, from the joint down, hurt more than my chest, where the pacemaker was implanted.  It didn't go away for a few weeks.  I don't know if the surgery messed around with some nerves, or what but my upper arm was really sore.

I had discomfort in my upper arm/shoulder before surgery, but it has intensified and my arm hurts MUCH worse than the incision. I also have a numb place on my upper arm, fairly close to the incision which makes me think nerve damage, although hopefully temporary. It sounds like you are in good company with the arm pain! I hope for all 3 of us it goes away.

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.
