Pvc's

Had my pacemaker inserted on May 14.  Had a lot of anxiety and PVC's for several weeks after but then things settled down.  Last week, mid August, 2018 the PVC's started again and are strong and unsettling.  Has anyone had similar experiences with this and should I be concerned?

PVCs a reason to be concerned?

Probably not but it'll make you feel better if you have your EP check it out. While it's happening, you might want to upload your PM to the cloud and have them look at it (assuming you're connected).  Otherwise, your PM should be recording such things.

PVCs

PVC's are annoying but not dangerous, however the trigger mechanism should be looked into. Could be they can resolve the issue and stop the thumps. Personally I've had so many PVCs for so long I don't even pay attention anymore.

Vitamin D level.....

You can have them check your vitamin D level.   I found my vitamin D level drops during winter months and I get more PVC's.  Since adding vitamin D I get fewer episodes.  Just something pretty simple to check.

PVCs and PACs

I had a similar experience. My PM was implanted in Jan 2018. At first I was feeling fine. Then started feeling PVCs. Once they start, they last for a week or two and then calm down for a week or two.

During my last visit with the cardiologist, she saw PACs as well. I am aware that they are harmless but they make me feel awful. I suspect that exercise makes them worst. That concerns me. I plan to talk to my cardiologist and my EP about it next time. Some days I feel great and can exercise with higher intensity. Some day, I get out of breath just walking up the stairs just one or two flights up. When I am having PVCs, I really can't work out much. So she put me on low dose of Metaprolol 25 mg a day. I am not sure if it is making any difference. It takes a few weeks for it to start working. This week I have been feeling good but not sure if it is because of the medicine or just coincidence. I haven't really worked out for almost a month.

I was told to take Magnsium (upto 1000 mg a day), limit or eliminate caffeine and alcohol. I tried all this but don't think it helps. I will get my Vit D checked and see if that helps.

I really hope to get this resolved. I don't like not exercising and worrying what all this might lead to.
