Ejection Fraction Percentage

What tests measure your Ejection Fraction Percentage?  My Cardiologist or EP have never mentioned this but I see it discussed on the forum.

Many tests available.

Cardiac echo (echocardiogram) easy and least expansive I think!

MRI (magnectic resonance imaging) expansive, waiting list might be long.

Nuclear medecin test such as persantin MIBI.

Hope this helps!

Sorry

Regarding left vetricle ejection fraction

by DAVID H - 2018-09-10 17:59:45

It's an estimation of the percentage of blood that is "pumped" out of the left ventricle when the heart muscle "squeezes." It's a pretty subjective matter. I've found the best Docs for "reading" an echo is a cardiologist whose specialty is echocardiography.

MUGA scan...

by BOBTHOM - 2018-09-12 00:31:50

MUGA scan is a nuclear test but no excersise.  They inject you, you wait a little while for it to get absorbed, the lay down and the camera swings around you for about 10 minutes.  It provides one of the most accurate measures of ejection fraction.
