EP recommendations in south

Looking to get a second opinion for my husband. Our Ep in Louisiana has been wonderful but my husband is the youngest patient he has and I feel we need more experienced hands on deck. Anyone have any dealing with EP in Birmingham, Alabama..Dallas, Nashville or any info you can give would be helpful

Look up Electrophysiologists in whatever city you want.  There are a ton of them.  Try GA - Emory in Atlanta has a pretty darned good stock of them.  Dr. Mickael el-Chami did my 2nd PM & I have been seeing him since about 2007.  I plan on having him do my third in  a year or so.    I'd recommend him based on personal experience.  If you cannot locate one in Houston,  Dallas or at Baylor, you are being picky!  besides, you can comfortably drive to those Texas location, meaning you can go, also!  I support Agent 86X - ny wife gores to  EVERY appt I have - it's amazing what she hears that I don't.

Thank you for your response! We go to my husband’s appointment Wednesday and I want to be as prepared as possible. I have so many questions and things I want to say on this forum but I have 2 little ones so it’s short and sweet responses from me but it helps so much to know others have gone down the road we are on

Second Dr. El-Chami and Emory.  I saw him Friday,  in fact.  He did my ablations, AV ablation, and pacemaker. Friday,  he told me to not come back (unless something bad happened). ;-)  He knows my cardiologist really well and trusts him to refer me back if necessary.

My wife thinks he's the greatest. Nice guy.

Dr. Natalie in Austin gets big raves but he's more of an ablation specialist than pacemaker. He may not even do them.

Agree wholeheartedly!  I saw him first in the Cumming office right after they joined Emory.  You are the second  member I have run into here who has seen el-Chami.   The first is  a woman who lives just across the NC/GA state line.  He installed her leadless Medtronic PM.

Do you, by any chance see Dr. Hermoni for cardiology?

Cardiologist

No, my cardiologist is Vikram Mandadi. He's not at Emory but was in Southern Heart, when Obamacare forced them to sell out to Emory. He did my first heart cath. My PCP, at the time, recommended him highly (never steered me wrong). Obamacare forced him out, too. He's now doing concierge medicine.

Youngest

I'm 45. Had to have emergency surgery for implantation. I have as third degree cardiac block. The surgeon/cardiologist that I have, told me that after surgery, I'm the youngest patient he has. To say i was a bit put off is an understatement. But  this man literarily saved my life, so, iI trust him with it exclusively! I guess it boils down to, how much do you trust this doctor. And if you feel comfortable with him.
