I was wondering if any ladies would be able to answer this question for me. Have any of you had a breast reduction after having a pacemaker? If so how was your recovery and was it more complicated?
Thanks,
Tammy

I can't help you with that question, but honestly I can't see why not. . Funny you asked that because I was wondering if you could get implants with one. I'm not saying I am.....I was just curious. lol
Cheers:)

Hi Tammy,
I've not had reduction surgery but I have two friends who have, though neither of them has a pacemaker. For both of them, they were off work for a week following the surgery. They wore compression bandages for a while -- several weeks if I recall correctly -- and were told to sleep only on their backs, not their sides or stomach, for quite a while -- 6 weeks or so if I recall correctly. That's about all I remember hearing about it. I don't know why having a pacemaker would make any difference unless your PM is implanted behind your breast and might need to be moved to do the surgery. Sweetkozy, I don't have implants either, but I don't know why a PM would prevent it and recall reading previous posts from someone who has them.
Best wishes Tammy -- I hope you're doing better these days. Hugs, Cathryn

Tracie,
LOL......I just had a laugh about being afraid you'll end up with nothing. Let's hope that's NOT the case. LOL I just might ask my EP when I go in for my next check-up.
Cathryn - Thanks for the comment! My PM is implanted underneath my left pectoral muscle and curious if that would complicate things. I talk about implants, but I don't think I would actually go through with it. lol :) It's nice to dream though. :)
Cheers:)

Great question

Laughing as well because like sweetkozy I was wondering the opposite. With all my pacemaker implants being in the left shoulder my breast is a whole cup smaller than my right. I'm afraid I will end up with nothing :)
