Odd sensations

Here's a daft sounding question. Has anyone had any odd sensations or spasms in the diaphragm area, specifically when yawning or deep breathing, say after exercise?

Not daft. Ask to have your leads checked. Soemtimes the leads can be in a position such that it paces the diaphragm.

Not daft at all

It's perfectly within the purpose of this forum (Tracy is right on them money, as usual) but ask your EP about it, too.  They run into such things all the time.  I had spasm in my shoulder, across my clavicle, adn up my neck (both sides).  He ssaid it was perfectly normal to have nerves seriously pissed off and would go away soon enough.  He was right.  If you don't tell them about your symptoms, they can't help.

Thanks folks

Thank you - I'm fairly new to this forum. I've had my unit a long time (22 years!), but I've rarely had to worry about it because I rarely use it apparently. The spasms seem to occur when I breathe deeply or yawn deeply and they're quite disconcerting as my lungs feel constricted. I'll be calling my docs tomorrow I think. Don't know why I've been putting it off!

How old are your leads? They can send out some crazy signals when they go bad.

I'm jealous, I'm at 24 years but have blown through 4 devices and am on #5. Nice to meet you :)

Weirdness

I had my 1st pm put in on 10/2 and I've been having all kinds of weirdness. One is I feel like I have a coating in my chest, like I've breathed in a lot of smoke, o dont have restriction just a heaviness in my chest it's weird. The other one is I have this feeling of what it felt like when I was pregnant and the baby would kick. It's a flutter feeling on my right side. It doesn't hurt just weird feeling. I have no one to talk to so I dont know when it's an emergency feeling or just my body adapting. The emotional toll of this whole ordeal has been hard to deal with as well..

You know you're wired when...

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.
