After six weeks

Baths are OK after that long.  My instructions were to keep it dry for 48hrs, no direct spray for two weeks, or until the Steri-Strips fell off.

By all means, take a shower. I was told to not shower for 48 hours then shower as usual. Don't worry if the strips get wet.

I've been told not to get the wound wet for 7 days (dissolvable stitches). If they'd used surgical glue, I could have showered immediately.

I rest my case

It's not just the shower itself ...

... remember that how you dry the area can be important in avoiding infection too.  Whilst I should think fine to shower, don't share your towel, and change it frequently (use for no more than 2 - 3 days at first).

Also, pat dry. DO NOT RUB the wound.

I love this new part of me, and very, very thankful that this technology exists and I know that it's all only going to get better over time.
