Hi, people.  Second posting.  CRT-P implanted 10/3, with AV nodal ablation.

It's pacing at "100 percent" which I take to mean it's making my heart beat all the time.  So happy not to have the tachycardia and/or brachycardia anymore -- it was really wearing me down, and looking forward to having my life back after years of struggling.

Only one night in the hospital -- yay! (Last ablation I was in the ICU for 6 days, which seriously sucked.) Am quite sore -- I'm sure that's normal.  Planning to return to work on Monday, 10/8 - fortunately I can sit and type all day.

I hate the monitor -- It woke me up the first night because of the flashing light in my bedroom.  I thought something was wrong; very disconcerting.  I like my bedroom to be dark at night. Why in blazes must devices have glowing lights?  My tv, fans, the smoke detector - now the monitor.  Bah! I covered all the lights I could -- maybe it won't transmit?

Talked to my doc (EP) before the procedure.  He asked if I was a Black Panther fan, and said he tells people the implant is 50% titanium and 50% vibranium, LOL. He has fun seeing who gets that reference.

If you had an AV ablation, your pacemaker is making your heart beat 100% of the time, and will as long as you're on this Earth.  It's connecting your atrium to your ventricles.  Without the latter...

Yeah, one night in the hospital is about right.  One of my ablations was an overnight and the other two were outpatient. Sounds like everything went right this time (six days in ICU for an ablation really sucks).  As long as you feel up to working, go for it.  I went to work the day after I got sprung from the hospital (40ish hours after the surgery).  I was quite tired when I got home but otherwise OK.  After that it, I was fine.  You should be great by Monday.  Just no typing, over your head.  ;-)

I don't mind lights at night.  It seems we get more electronic junk that just has to have a different colored LED, each week.  Nightlights?  Why bother?  Mine doesn't connect automatically (bluetooth is turned off), rather I have to use the puck to upload data.  I could easily throw it in a drawer or put it back in its box.

Hmm, never had my pacemaker vibrate.  I can believe my phone is vibranium.  ;-)

Again, welcome to the very select group and I hope things continue to go well for you.

thanks

to those who've responded.  Am getting a bit better every day, but went out today for a short time and got whumped physically and mentally.  Will try for half-day at work tomorrow and see how it goes.

You know you're wired when...

Your ICD has a better memory than you.
