That sounds like an incredibly bad idea to me. Why would you want the pain, not to even mention the possibility of infection.  You're messing with some potentially deadly stuff here.

Not what I'd do....

I know I would not want to have needles poking around above the scar where I know there are wires running to my heart and have them inject ink into it.   Also, when they need to replace the device ie for battery life, they will cut right through your tatoo.  Wonder what it will look like after that?   Just my 2 cents.

Documents ref my device (Medtronics) say to avoid tattoos in the area of the device.

Having said that, you need to remember that when it or leads need to be replaced, they may destroy that tattoo while doing so.  I am a long time ICD patient and they have had to move the device slightly to accommodate new vien entry points, so you can't expect that you will never have more than one insertion scar and one that will destroy your artwork.

You know you're wired when...

Friends call you the bionic woman.

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
