I am 54 yrs old and had a pacemaker placed 5 weeks ago today. I have tenderness at the incision site also upper left arm dull pain. Also tired still! I am planning to go back to work my fear is it's not healed enough and being tired won't be good either. I am also on Sotalol a low dose. Monitoring my heart rate and I am at 60-61 but I have gone down to 52 then up to 56-58 then 60 is this a normal way this pacemaker should work? this is not all the time just now and then.

Yesterday I moved to a new place in my mind and realized how bad I felt 'before' and the difference my pacemaker has made.
Thanks . :-)

Robin1, Thank you
I have been watching what I eat very low to no sodium watching for preservatives and fats. I have some work to do on losing some weight also. The walking I am doing daily but I become short of breath others notice the SOB before I do I just feel tired. I know this is just 5 weeks out, so I will continue and hope the tiredness goes away. Positive thoughts and working towards being more energetic and healthier :-)
Thanks for the input and experience. I will remember the cold comment. So far Tylenol and ice pack does help some.
Take care
Pauline
