AV Ablation

I am one week after pm implantation and on cardizem for tachycardia. Have sick sinus syndrome. Would like to hear of success stories after AV ablation in case that is the next step for me.

AV Node Ablation

Do you know the cause of your tachycardia? I see that you have a CRT-P pacemaker. Do you have all three leads?

I have had an AV ablation and PM implanted (same model as yours,  in fact), but not so much for tachycardia, rather highly symptomatic flutter. The ablation was absolutely the best option for me, though it hasn't been without problems.

Your case is different and I really don't know what's best for your situation but an AV ablation is a viable option, but only after all others have been exhausted. It's the last option.

Leads

My EP went ahead and put 3 leads in. What problems have you had? Thanks for the response. 😊

Problems

Basically, I've had some really good days and some that aren't so great.  The surgery was a piece of cake and the first month was great but after that I had periods where I was constantly tired.  That lasted a few months.  Recently, I've been getting PVCs (Bigeminy), which are a real downer.  The trade for the flutter is still worthwhile. Flutter really sucked.  I'm still in flutter 100% of the time but I don't feel it because of the AV block and ventricle pacing.

BTW, only two leads.  Because of the full-time flutter, the atrial lead would have been useless.
