ER visit once again.

Well hello friends, I had a ER visit the other day out of no where I got chest pain I knew it was my pm right away acting funny sorta. So here is my question does anybody else get pain when pacing happens in the ventricles?
Anytime I got into PMT my ventricle pacing comes in and it hurt. The tech was able to turn down my hr so it won't go up as high so it does not hurt as bad. It took here 31/2 hrs to get settings to help me feel better. My sensing has to be so high b/c otherwise I get short of breathe really easy.
My other question is this last surgery I had they said my heart was not enlarged at all. Now the x-ray they took shows that it is enlarged again they told me to follow up with my heart Dr. Does anybody else have where it goes back and forth? What does that come from? My b/p has been lower for a couple months so no beta blocker has been needed. Any ideas?
Thanks hope all of you are doing well.

Much Love,
Tammy

Tammy,

I am so sorry that you are having problems. :(

I can feel my pacemaker kick in when it paces my ventricles. It doesn't really cause pain though, just discomfort. For a while, I felt pain, but within a few days it went away.

As far as the enlarged heart goes, I'm not really sure. Did they use a portable x-ray machine when they did your chest x-ray in the ER, or did they take you back to a radiology suite? I ask this, because I was told I had an enlarged heart at the ER. My cardiologist confirmed that my heart was normal and told me that portable x-rays are often distorted and can make the heart appear larger than it actually is.

Now, my doctor is saying that I do have an enlarged heart (confirmed by CT scan)...but that is a totally different story. ;)

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you are feeling better!

Love ya,
Amanda

Interesting Question

Boy, I'm really interested in some responses to this one. I just recently in the past few months started experiencing some chest pain that is not typical of heart attack or other such events. It feels like it is confined to an area about the size of a quarter and is sort of "pinching" in nature. Heavy exertion can bring it on, but I basically treadmill strenuously everyday and there is no sign of heart disease. Doc said it could be my ventricle pacing. That was the first I heard that there could be pain involved with that, so if anyone else out there knows more please weight in. Two Cents

I'm very interested in this too. I get chest pain too for brief periods of time since the pm. Seems to happen more when I'm exercising. The cardiologist told me he didn't think it was the pm, but it's funny I didn't have this prior to the pm. Maybe I'm not nuts after all.
