Cruise Control

Hi.  I had my post PM implant follow up appt. today.  I had a CRT-P put in October 3 with an AV node ablation.

Everything seems to be proceeding apace.(Ha! ) I've got most of the range of motion back in my arm, tho' I still can't sleep on that side.  Incision is still a bit sore and swollen.  There have been quite a few days in the past couple of weeks when I got home from work very happy to greet a bottle of Tylenol and an ice pack.  Am trying to not wear a bra or cothing that would irritate the skin further.

Tech checked my device -- nothing concerning.  I took a picture of the device sample, so I'd know exactly what it looked like.  I did ask them about the dratted glowing lights on the home monitor.  I am covering them up with a towel for now; was told it wouldn't block the transmission.  I'll find something better to block the lights before I burn the house done.

I asked some questions about the pacing; PM is pacing a100% (set at 80 bpm), so I don't completely understand how the beat can still  be irregular.  I asked doc what would happen if my heart rate went above the set rate, if I were exercising or whatever.  He said the speed would go back down.

So I said, "Oh, like cruise control?"  He laughed and agreed and said he'd use that line.

AV Ablation + CRT-P

I assume, since you have had an AV ablation and a CRT-P pacemaker that you have two ventricle leads and no atrial lead.  If this is the case, any arrhythmia now has to be coming from the ventricles (PVCs).  Sucks, huh!

You know you're wired when...

You have a dymo-powered bike.

A properly implanted and adjusted pacemaker will not even be noticeable after you get over the surgery.
