Cardiac Re-synchronization Therapy

I would appreciate feedback on Cardiac Re-synchronization Therapy.  My husband's electrophysiologist is recommending this as it is time to replace his pacemaker and he is experiencing a persistant irregular heartbeat.  He has had a 5-box mini maze (2011), several ablations and drug therapy.  This has worked on-and off for years, but now nothing seems to be able to control it.  His previous electrophysiologist had also recommended this.

I agree with Robin, if it's been recommended twice then it's probably a good idea. A two lead pacer can make the heart go faster on exertion, can keep it from going too slowly at rest. The 3rd lead allows them to synchronize the left and right ventricles, which can help with how efficiently the heart beats. Two lead can only make it go faster, but not more efficiently.

hi there

i had a crt-d procedure in 2014. i have had no problems. my ejection fraction increased from10ish to 35-40. although i am happy about that, other members have had more successful increases.  most important for me, is to be sure you have a great electrophysiologist.

i was anxious before procedure but feel secure knowing my heart is protected..  good luck
