DIsney world rides

Good Afternoon all,

I had my pacemaker put in October 2017,   I am going to DIsney World Jan 2019.  I was told by my EP that rides are ok as my pacemaker is for a heart block and only "kicks in when needed".  My question is, do you know if rides like Tower of Terror, or any rollercoasters that have the overhead harness would be ok due to the bumpyness if these types of rides... Any input would be appreciated

Thanks

Good Question

Ive been wondering this myself as we have a Disney world trip coming up after Christmas.  At the moment, just the thought of riding those rides hurts as I just had my pacemaker put in this past Wednesday.  But I'm sure by the end of December that will be better. But I am concerned about bumping the site on some of those rides.  Looking forward to hearing from others with experience.

Rides

InTheFastLane, give it 6 months to a year before you do any coasters or rides with a lot of centrifugal force.

Once we've fully healed, the only thing we need to watch out for is magnetic brakes. You can usually tell those rides because they have the super fast start/stop and are newer. The main ones I avoid are Rock n Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios, Manta at Seaworld, Hulk at Islands of Adventure. There are others I don't ride, but because I don't want to not because I don't think I should.

If you pace with rate response, and when we have just heart block we usually do not, bumpy rides will set off the rate response and raise our rate. Just be aware that's what it is, it's harmless but feels weird.

I'm going in January, too, for Marathon Weekend. And I was there this past week. And going for Thanksgiving. #passholder

thanks Tracey... do you think tower or terror would be ok with the bouncing??

yep

That's one of the ones I won't do because I hate freefall, but it's mechanical not magnetic so perfectly safe. Bouncing is harmless.
