Crt d shocks

My wife has to have a Crt pacemaker fitted in a weeks time, they have given her an option between the Crt d (with defrib) or Crt p (without defrib)

Our question is how often do the defrib’s trigger unnecessarily? My wife is worried that she will become a nervous wreck waiting almost expecting it to trigger.

any experiences?

thanks, Jon

Defibrillators

No matter what model defibrillator, an inappropriate Jesus Jolt is rare these days thanks to software programming improvements. However, if they are giving her the option that tells me she doesn,'t need a defibrillator so then why are you even considering a defibrillator (CRT-D).

Thanks for the reply.

they suggested one because she is young (44) and also has left branch bundle block which is electrical prob out of sync.

Defibrillators

Neither her age nor Left Bundle Branch Block are justification for a defibrillator. Now if her EF (ejection fraction) is below 30% then she needs one but so far what you've said isn't justification...big question, will her insurance approve a CRT-D (AKA a bi-ventricular defibrillator).
