Prolong pain underneath pacemaker

My husband had a pacemaker implant on Aug. 30th, 2018. It is now almost 2 1/2 months and he still has pain underneath the pacemaker. Incision has healed well.  Cardiologist said it will take time.  About 3 weeks ago, he also developed shingles on the right hand area just opposite his pacemaker implantation, above the nipples.  Shingles could be cause by stress.  Not sure if this is related to his pacemaker's pain.  Has anyone experience this condition?  Does anyone have any treatment or advice?  I will appreciate any thoughts on this matter.  Thank you.
