I’m 8 weeks out from getting a pacemaker and I’m way overdue for a mammogram. I’d like to get it done soon, but I’m scared it will pull the lead out or hurt when I get the test. My pacemaker site is still sore to the touch. Dr says it’s okay to get it done now. Anyone have a similar experience?
Thanks

Thanks for the suggestions. I’m actually overdue a year for the mammogram and started to notice one breast sagging more than the other. I’m hoping it’s just from loss off muscle from not using that arm a lot for the last 8 weeks.
I did leave a message for gyno to see if they would write a script to get an ultrasound instead.
Thanks

I am just thankful that I am alive and that even though I have this pacemaker it is not the end of the world.
I'd wait

The leads will be fine but it's gonna hurt, especially if you are still sore. Unless you are high risk and a few months will make a difference, I'd wait until 6 months. Also tell the technician before they start. The first time I had one after getting the pacer, they did a gentle scan first just to see where the pacer and leads are, then did the full scan. I go to the same place so now they have that for reference.
