Put a magnet to my pacemaker and it beeped

I put a magnet to my pacemaker to see if it would hold it and my pacemaker made a loud beep for 10 seconds and then stopped. I haven’t had any problems with since and didn’t have any problems before either.

Should I be worried? Does this mean anything?

Its probably worth noting I’m in USA on exchange and get back home (Australia) early January with my next check up in February

I wouldn't do it

Magnets can affect the settings of the PM. Once I was working near the speakers of my stereo and felt some extra beats. No lasting effects but not a good experience.
