To Skinny?

Hi.  I posted a few days ago, I admit I have been a busy bee.  I got my pacemaker 6 days ago and I walked out of the hospital into a spitfire.So.. .I lost a lot of weight.  Like 57lbs :/  so I am 100lbs right now.  and I dont have a big chest. Wide chest i guess.  So my pacemaker is like sorta poking out :/ It just feels weird to touch and you can see it ;/  Does anyone else have this problem?  is it normal for thin people to see it?  Thanks I hope everyone has a fantastic turkey Day.  Remember you are amazing :)

Hi there, fellow 100lbs, small chested PM sister!  Firstly, i’m glad the surgery is behind you now and i hope your quality of life improves by the day. A lot to be thankful for this turkey day!

I’ve had my pacer implanted in july and i’ve gotten used to this unsightly protrusion. So i’m past the point where it feels weird to look at it, in fact, i don’t even go out of my way to hide it from the outside world. However, it does still feel weird to the touch. Wondering how long it’ll take for that to subside. But, in a nutshell, it’s normal to have such issues if you’re skinny. Some take longer than others to adjust, but i hope you’ll do just fine. I’m adding a pic collage to the member gallery, i just took them now after reading your message and i did 4 different poses - you’ll see how it protrudes more (or less) depending on arm position. Hope this helps!

Happy Thanksgiving and keep us posted!

Yes, very visible....

I'm a slender guy with an ICD and mine is very visible.  The scar will heal better and the skin will pull tighter around it, but you will always still see/feel it.  Like Elise, I no longer try to hide it.  When I'm at the beach I've seen people react, but I just carry on like everything is normal.  Just keep telling yourself, better the bump than the alternative!

Thank you

My pleasure!

Basically, if I fold my arms over my chest (or similar pose), it makes the bulge barely visible... but i say to hell with all that, when you got it, flaunt it.

People stare and finally ask "Whats that?"  I answer, "57 Chevy 210 coupe. I put it into some Xerox copier and reduced it. It runs fine!"

I have an ICD and after a infection scare I was told it is dow. about as far as it will go. It protrudes a little bit but isnt crazy and I dont care of anyone sees it, I'm alive and healthy now so gaze upon my medical marvel.
