Medicare and Medicare Advantage Plans

I thought I'd investigate a switch from Medicare to a Medicare Advantage Plan.  Looks like I'll need to perform more investigating during the coming year since the enrollment end is fast approaching (Dec 7).  My 1st line of questions were to see what plan allows me to continue with the EP and cardiologists I currently see. So far, easier said than done. In addition, there are many rules involving a Medicare Advantage Plan, i.e.: the plan can drop doctors whenever, enrollment can be limited, and switching back to original Medicare has its own jumbled set of rules. Seems to be an exercise one needs to have an attorney scrutinize.  Anyone here in a MA plan that has worked well for them?

Medicare and Medicare Advantage Plans

Hi Robin:  My 1st indication of "craziness" was a few weeks ago when I first stuck my big toe into investigating a certain plan.  With whatever plan it was I was looking at, I typed in Dr. Margaret Redfield - prob. one of the most highly regarded cardilogists in the U.S. - who practices at Minnesota's Mayo Clinic. Her name popped up as being in network! Being suspicious, I didn't take this task any further until I speak with a local Ins. SalesRep who scours multiple plans (esp. for part D) for the residents here. I don't plan on signing up for next year but maybe for the following year - we'll see!

Thanks, Swangirl!  I currently have a plan F supplement, and have been tempted to look into the MA plans, but I'm gunshy!
