Blood pressure

If you have pacemaker ... can you check blood pressure with wrist cuff? And have you been able to get good readings with any BP cuff?

I use one and my doctor uses one on me too. Seems to work fine.

I use it all the time...

I bought a cheap one on amazon for about $15 and have brought it with me to doctors visits to compare, its close enough that I can say it's accurate.  I use it daily for my log along with the $12 oximeter.  The most important part, and the reason for keeping a daily log, is to look for changes.  Most of the time that people say they are not accurate is because they have not been instructed on how to use them.  Sit upright quietly, wrap around wrist tightly, turn on and fold your arm to your chest so that the monitor is about over your heart.  It will beep and deflate when it's finished.  At the same time I place the oxymeter on my middle finger of the same hand and turn it on.  When the bp cycle is complete I log the results along with my weight and my wake up time and jot down any notes as to what doctors visits, major events, reactions to medications, etc.  It all comes in handy when discussing your condition with your doctor and identifying trends in your health.     But that's just me.

Wrist cuff works fine--I like it

I have an Omron Intellisense wrist cuff. No guess work. A blue light tells you when it's in the right position. Orange light says wrong position and the unit will not inflate. Has been clinicially shown to be accurate. I find it easier and more convenient to use than the upper arm cuff.

I use it daily since lately my BP is more labile than it used to be. Like Bobthom says, having a daily record helps me to spot trends. For instance, there's no doubt that when I'm in pain with my back, my blood pressure climbs.

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
