Infection update 2

Well,I wanted to give y'all a update on what is going on with me. I found out today that I do indeed have MRSA. My antibiotic has been giving me hives like no other and it's the last one I can take. I am so irritated about this but I was determinded to stay on this one b/c I know what my choice is after this. Hospital visit or give myself antibitics through IV at home. I am taking benadryl like it is my best friend. Still not taking hives away but causes less itching.
So far I was freaked out yesterday about my incision and I have a feeling I will be back in the Dr office on Monday. It's very red in the corners and I feel as if it is spreading which I learned today that can happen before the anitbiotics work. ugg this is frustrating.

Oh my Tammy....

I'm not surprised you caught MRSA as it is rampant in a lot of hospitals lately. What were your symptoms? OR Where you tested automatically because you were in the hospital lately?

Benadryl is good stuff. At least the itching is less.

Keep a good eye on your incision!!!!!!!!
(But I know you will)

Pookie,
I went to the Dr three days ago b/c my incision had a stitch poking out of it. It was painful and hurt at both corners. I had asked others if it looked infected and I only got one person who said it could be. My Mom said it didn't look like it.
So when I woke up the other from the poking stitch and pain I decided that two weeks was enough and made a Dr visit. The side that I thought had finally scapped over the nurse touched it and said hmmm when she walked out of the room I grabed my incision area like you know when your in pain and puss was just coming out. All I had to do was push a little and all sorts of junk was coming out.
He said right then that he thought it was MRSA and I freaked out. Scary stuff I don't want it to spread and just don't want this stuff. I have not cried too much about this but really can't take the pain. So I have started taking my pain medication again.
Benadryl seems to only last a short time before more itching occurs but as far as i'm concerned I will fight this off without being back in the hospital.
