Update for today

I am so blessed for all of you and your posts and thoughts. So here is the plan of action to kick this MRSA in the butt. So this is what I know or think I know.

1. I am getting antibiotics every 12 hrs. now.
2. I was very dehydrated and my IV bag is my great friend
3. I had one goal today and that was to get some food and drink down. I did so.
4. I will have a TEE Echo done on Monday. To see if the infection has gotten to my heart. I highly doubt it has. I don't see or understand how it could. I really feel like this test is a waste and I don't like the idea of it. But I have no choice at this point.
5. I will at some point have to have my pm and leads completely removed and placed on my right side. I'm very sad about this but see why.
6. I feel ok not as much pain, no fever, low b/p but not concerned.

7. I appreciate all your posts on the last update.
8. I have a lot of you on my mind. Though have a couple that I would like you to be saying special prayers for. Amanda, Taryn, Karen(Pookie), Susan (Pacergirl).
9. Pookie it has been 3 years come March we have been talking I am almost positive.
10. All of you drink plenty of fluids and keep yourself hydrated. They are having trouble getting blood and IV's in me b/c of my veins. So a pic line may be placed.

Lastly sorry for using numbers but it was the easiest way for me to remember everything I wanted to say. Continued prayers would be awesome. I love you all and would be lost without you all.

Love and Blessings,
Tammy

I love to number things too.

Has it really been closer to 3 years that we've been corresponding...oh wow. I'd love to know the exact date, but I didn't keep all our emails...darn. March will be our 3rd anniversary and my 48th birthday. Did I say 48? I can't get over that time flies so quickly.

So, how are you doing on the antibiotics? Any side effects? Are you getting them orally or thru the IV?

The food & drink thing....when we feel like crap, isn't it odd how we don't even want to bother with both, but yet we have to remember that without them, our bodies have to fight ever harder.

Is a Tee Echo the same thing as a Muga?

Did they give you any idea how long you will be hospitalized?

Why will you have to have everything moved to the opposite side? Because of the infection?

I'm so glad you are able to update us. I've been thinking of you and Taryn nonstop. Taryn's brother has been keeping me up to date via regular email, but I haven't heard anything from him today. Hopefully, I will hear something before tonight.

Life is so difficult at times....but it's amazing that my troubles seem so trivial when I'm hoping and praying for all my friends to get better. My mind is totally occupied hoping and praying that all of you have some really speedy recoveries.

Today I had a good day and Lloyd and I took our dog, Maxx, to a Doggie Expo.....it was so fun. We came home with bags and bags of samples of dog food and treats and Maxx met about 300 different dogs. Then we went to a few open houses just to get some ideas as we want to renovate our house! Today was a really really really good day for me. :)

Anyways, today is Sunday and that means we're headed up to my parents for MY favorite meal: roast of pork with all the trimmings!!!!!!!!

My stomach issue (colitis) that is in remission is great. I can eat whatever I want whenever I want...to the point now that I've gained a whopping 15 pounds. Gee...that might mean I'll have to go buy all new clothes again!!

Take care Tammy. You are a strong girl with so much compassion and strength.

I'm only an email away.

Hugs
Pookie

Lots of love and prayers

TEE's are NO FUN to be sure but in light of the MRSA they do need to make sure your valves are clear of infection. TEE's work better because you don't have the interference of ribs, etc. and they can visualize the left atrium and the valves better. Keep eating and drinking, and ask for pain meds when you need it. It does sound like a PICC line might be necessary because you'll be on antibiotics a while longer. You are already in my prayers for complete recovery. I love you and your sweet spirit! Lenora

Best wishes

I am glad to see that you have such a positive outlook through all you are going through. That is the key to recovery and getting through any problem. I will be praying for you and hope to hear that you are home and well soon. Keep us posted. :)

You know you're wired when...

You can hear your heartbeat in your cell phone.
