I'm a little unsure on how to make the DVLA aware of my ICD. There are so many different forms, online links, phone numbers and suggestions that I don't know where to begin!
I have just had an ICD fitted and was told by the doctors that I would be banned from driving for 1 month, not 6 months. This is because I have not blacked out nor had any cardiac episodes before the ICD was installed - they said my surgery was preventative, not necessary which makes the difference.
Does anyone know the correct way to go about notifying DVLA and if I will need to send them back my licence or not? I don't want to get slapped with 6 months banned from driving when this is definitely not the case!

Stan, this is the website you use to inform the DVLA of your condition.
Just follow the link and complete the form online.

I hope this is a help.
