Pacemaker anniversary

Hey all!!

Just posting to say thank you to everyone on this page. Today I have had my pacemaker for 10 years precisely! For congenital complete heart block. I hope you all have a fabulous Christmas, and keep on keeping on!

complete heart block as well, 5 pacers so far.  Looking at your profile am I doing the math right?  12 years old with your first one and you are 10 years in total?  so pretty soon half your life will be with a pacer, I passed that mark a number of years ago.  first pacer at 19 so at 38 had a device half my life.

Yep I am now at the point when from this day on I will have had my pacemaker longer than I haven’t! Had a second one put in 2 years ago early as I also had a lead added. Only had 1 lead for the first 8 years!! Which caused me to suffer with pacemaker syndrome. 2 leads now and I feel fab. Thanks for being so welcoming. This page is amazing at putting me at ease when I have any questions or just feel overwhelmed by it all.  Nice to see someone with complete heart block doing well. As I must be honest the idea of having a pacemaker forever is a bit daunting! 

Gonna have a wee glass of prosecco to celebrate! 😅
