Recovery

Hi everyone, I am just 2 weeks out from my PM surgery. I have a dual lead Biotronik. I noticed an immediate difference when i woke up. But i am still getting tired easily. I dont know if its just from the surgery itself or if my PM still needs some tweaking. I am also having sharp stabbing pains under my left breast. They last sometimes seconds. And sometimes they last minutes. Like tonight it has kept me up till 3:36 am. Is it part of the healing process? Has anyone experienced this before? I had two previous ablations for IST one was done open heart. Drs got alittle over zealous and took my heart rate down too much. So within 2 years i have had three heart surgeries. I would appreciate any reply. Thank you.

I recieved my pacemaker for bradycardia and long pauses. My second abalation was a VATS open heart ablation. They go in through the right side of your body, deflate your lung so they can be more aggressive in abalating the right spots. My heart rate easily would hit 220 somedays for no reason. He treated it aggressively alright. My heart developed enough scar tissue it was falling into the 20s and 30s, which is why i needed the pacemaker. I felt awful with my heart rate that low and with a low bp also. So the pacmaker from Biotronik is keeping my HR and BP both steady. To that i am really thankful.

being tired

I am a Mason and for four weeks after my ICD was implanted I was tired from walking around. My wife and I went to the mall the night I got out and I needed a wheelchair to get around. it's been about 6 weeks and I hit 16,000 steps walking around in NYC. it gets better and if you have the option get into a cardiac rehab program it was amazing for me. Bring up the pain with your doctor but it might just be settling of the device.
