I just found out what kind of PM I'm having put in. It's a st. Jude dual chamber I do not know what that means does anybody know about this type of pacemaker

Dual Chamber

It means you will have two leads, one in the atria and one in the vetricle.  This is consistent with your diagnosis--3rd degree AV block.  With two chambers, if your atria doesn't beat on it's own the PM will do it, then if the beat isn't picked up by the ventricle the PM will do it.  You would do well to get more information about your condition and what settings would work for your lifestyle.  Your PM is a sophisticated device that will work for you if it is properly programmed.

I wasn't really self-conscious about it. I didn't even know I had one until around six or seven years old. I just thought I had a rock in my side.
