Pain Along Side of Left Breast post ICD

I just had my first ICD implanted almost a week ago and have down along the left side of the left breast. It feels like there’s something hard down along there, starting not to far under my armpit.  That breast is slightly swollen as well. I did get breast implants about 9 years ago. Anyway the device could have moved down along there?  Other than that I feel like recovery is going along beautifully. Waiting for a call back from the pacer clinic.

I had wierd twinges of pain like you describe when I got my ICD installed, got a wicked looking bruise too. Tell you EP about it they will let you know if you should go in our not. I went in and was told it's normal but keep checking it. if you're on a lot of anti coagulants that could be a sign of a little damage in insertion that is taking awhile to heal. Have your heart doctors check to be sure.

Uelrindru, thanks for the response. I was able to see the EP a couple days ago and what I’m feeling IS the device. He said since I’m so small that the EP a who put it in put it a little lower so it wouldn’t be as visible. It’s still moving around in the pocket in the muscle they made and I guess has to “settle in” more. The pain is always along the side that at that moment is “down” gravity wise, so if I’m laying on my left side it’s where the left side of the device is. Other than this, the healing is going well from a pain standpoint. :)

A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.
