My story/New device

Hello newbie here,

Two weeks post op of CRT/ICD placement. The past 6 months have been a worldwind for my family and I. It began with vaca with the hubby. A 5 night cruise in which i was sick the whole time. Came home and went to the ER and was diagnosed with "travelers diahrrea" sent home on antibiotics which did not help. Went back and CT of abd done which revealed mass on uterus and ovary. Fast forward, had hysterectomy and my GYN found 500cc of fluid just hanging around. Thus started the gamet of test and found my EF was only 25%!  Ordered to wear a life vest for three months which ended up being 5. I tell you that was the worst 5mths of my life.  A real PIA!!   Follow up echo, EF only went up to 30%. So EP Doc decided on CRT/ICD. Surgey went well and recovery so far is going well. Some days I still cant believe this happened, but I'm so glad to have found this group!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

After you heal enjoy your new bionic prowess. Dont be afraid to ask as many questions as you can either here or with the doctors.

My doctor is recommending that I get a CRT-D as well.  How bad was the surgery and how is the recovery going?   I currently work a full-time desk job - how long should I expect to be out of work after the surgery?   I'm really nervous about the whole thing, so anything else you could share would be appreciated.
