Crt-p

I had a CRT-P installed a little over 2 weeks ago for pacemaker induced cardiomyopathy due to ventricle dyssyncrony. Other than some mild water retention in the abdomen, I have had no real symptoms. EF had dipped to around 40% (12/18 echo) with the dual lead PM I previouly had.

A couple of questions:

1) Is loss of water weight one of the signs that the therapy is most likely working? I ask as I’ve started to notice some positive changes with weight loss (3-4 lbs) and improved digestion at only 2 weeks post CRT-P implant.

2) I’ve read that most ventricle remodeling can occur in 3-6 months with this type of cardiomyopathy. Anybody have any experience with this?

Had diminished EF due to RV only pacing. Had a CRT-P implanted and EF went from 40% to 65% in 8 weeks for me.

I'm 33 and had the dual lead pacer for about 24 months prior to the CRT-P.

Sounds like you probably qualify as a super responder if you had that big of a jump in 8 weeks. Did EP recommend an echocardiogram only 8 weeks post CRT implant? I’ve heard most people that benefit see the largest gains in heart function in 3 to 6 months.

I just had surgery to add a lead and move to a crt-p pacemaker.   My EF was 35.   I hope that my EF improves.
