ID card

I went on holiday to the Canary Islands recently, going out ok as I could passed through surcurity ok with no problem but coming back I had to show my pacemaker medical card which as you know  the uk is a dog eared card the longer you have it the more dog eared it becomes. Has anyone found a company that will produce a plastic I’d card for pacemakers

i took mine and had it laminated at staples or any office supply shop. has lasted for years.

I had mine laminated. Most print shops can do it for you for a small fee.

My Medtronic card is plastic.  It looks like a credit card.  You might ask the manufacturer for a plastic one but barrring that, I think laminating the one you have is the best bet.  I doubt that a card from other than the manufacturer is going to have any weight with the TSA.

Since the only time I ever need it is at security at the airport I tape mine into the inside back cover of my passport.

I agree it is not advisable to get a plastic substitute - you are better with the official document, even though it is rediculously hand written and paper based, therefore does not have good durability.

I scanned mine in to my computer and have saved it as a PDF.  Every so often I print a new one out on 120gsm paper and cut it to size, to replace one that has become too battered.

Having said that, I have never had to show it at airports etc, doubtless partly because I don't say I have a pacemaker and go through the arch like everyone else.  But I always carry the card, whether flying or not.

LISTEN UP!!! I don't have a PM ID card. I have a PM bracelet. Bad thing-you can't take it off-good thing-it doesn't get eaten by a dog!!! You always have it with you. Dandy, you should get one of these.
