Hi. Has anyone out there experienced legs feeling like lead and unable to climb stairs? Implant was done Nov 2018 and I still have not returned to work as a mail carrier. The cardiologist and the EP keep changing my meds and I am wondering if my new combo could be causing my feeling of “heavy legs” and my inability to climb stairs without being severely winded and exhausted. I was fine before the heart failure, is it the meds causing my situation or is it the pacemaker?
Any advice is greatly appreciated Thank you

Watch out of Amiadarone! It causes problems with the theroid. It is a known fact. Doctors know about it.

Probably the END of the line in meds for PM hosts - you work your way up to it as you exhaust other alternatives.
Affects thyroid, lungs, liver... you name it. Lung damage is usually non-reversable. Also takes a LOOOOOOOOOONG time to rid the body of it. Half life in body is somewhere around 50-60 days. takes 5 half lives to rreduce a med to near zero. that's darned near a year. the stuff is soluble in body fat, that's why it's so tough to get rid of. That's also why you take such a loading dose before it starts helping the heart - you have eo fill up all the body fat before there is any available to help the old ticker.
Also could be the reason for the lead-legs!

I was on amaderoine for 6 months, came off in November last year, takes months for that shit to leave yr system since i was put on that pill, i have suffered lung problems, stomach dizzy spells sleepness nights shortness of breath, still told that they are unsure on what is happening or causing these symptoms, I am pretty fit walk about 80 km a week as a lawn mowing contractor ,only other comment they tell me its an age thing - cant say what my reply was , they are now looking a little deeper - see what happens - Its a shocking thing to take judgeing by my personal experiences

In life we have to consider what is more important, the loss of the vanity or the gain of the life.
It's highly unlikely that it's your pacemaker

However, it can be tricky to get pacemakers set up properly for every situation. Even though I walk 20mi a day, stairs cause problems. One flight isn't an issue but the second gets to me and forget about a third until I've rested.
I'd be looking at your drugs. Look them up online. Valsartan, for instance, can cause muscle weakness. Ameoderone is just a about as toxic of a drug as you're likely to come across. It can (will, eventually) damage just about every organ. It damaged my thyroid, though I wasn't on it long and the damage wasn't permanent. ALWAYS look up drug side effects, so you know what to look out for. Drug interactions are more difficult but a good pharmacist can help here.
