Hey I’m new to the club but I’ve had my pacemaker for just over 3 years (idk why I took so long to join) anyways I’m 15 and I was wondering if there are any other teens in the club!

I was a teen when I got my PM

I’m not a teen now, but I was when I got my pacemaker.  That was over 20 years ago.  I’m on pacemaker #3 now and am still using the original leads!

Pacemaker #3

Barnet38, I'm just curious about the evolution of these little marvels in our chests (God, I love mine!).

Have your PMs gotten successively smaller over twenty years? Did they all use the same "pocket" under your skin?

And have your EPs remarked that micro-PMs delivered by catheter will eventually obsolete our watch-sized ones along with their leads?

Thanks!

there are teens in this forum! I got my pacemaker at the age of 12 so I know what its like to be a teen with a pacemaker. If you need any advice or anything just message me.

I finished 29th in London in 2 hours 20 minutes 30 seconds which is my fastest with or without a device so clearly it didn’t slow me down ! I had no problems apart from some slight chaffing on my scar - more Vaseline next time.
