Wall outlet

I was switching a wall electric outlet and got shocked . Apparently I did not turn off the proper circuit breaker. Should I be concerned?

Alwats make sure you turn off the correct breaker. Electricity kills. Carelessness kills.

Oh, are you concerned that you did something to your pacemaker? If you're still alive, it's highly unlikely that you did any damage.

Worried

Yes I was worried about my pacemaker.

Thank you for your response

Electrocution

Electricity takes the path of least resistance- hand to earth- your little box is surrounded by metal and this acts as a Faraday cage, protecting those circuits within, should the electricity ever had coursed that way in the first place.

Take care.

Happily, no.

This is something I worried about at first. After all, I've seen what a power surge can do to electronics. I had a programmable ceiling fan that was knocked out by a lightening bolt that didn't even hit my house. It actually struck a tree two houses away.

But it turns out the people who made these little jewels that keep our hearts going day and night, planned for electrical jolts, as well as all the other fail safes.

Rest easy. There is next to nothing in the environment that you are at all likely to encounter that will hurt your pacemaker or cause it to malfunction.

Thank upi

Thank you all for your comments. I feel more at ease specially after I did some research that confirmed most likely pacemaker will be ok.

Simple if you were working on electrical and turned off the wrong breaker, you should be worried. Worried enough to realize you aren't competent for that type of work and stay away from it.

As for your pacemaker it'll survive more electric current than you so don't worry about that.
