Food reactions with blood thinners?

I take Xarelto/rivaroxaban.  I know-no grapefruit! But other than that I can find no definitive info.

Specifically, many common spices are being promotive as healthy alternatives to anti-inflammatories (which I cannot take) but which also act as blood thinners;  turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, cayanne, ginger, and garlic,  to name a few.

Hard to cook tasty food without spices. I was making spicy tumeric lemonade (yum) and putting cinnamon in my morning coffee. Probably will stop doing much of that.

My guess is small amounts in cooking shouldn't matter too much, but probably best not to overdo it.  Avoiding larger amounts meant to be therapeutic. What do you think?

Turmeric

I'm on Eliquis and my cardiologist prescribed turmeric recently. My pharmacist challenged the combination but my cardiologist stood behind it. "What, you don't think Indians get Afib?" When in doubt,  ask.

I was surprised to read above about avoiding grapefruit while on xarelto.  I've been taking xarelto for at least 5 years and nothing has been said to me about any foods to avoid.  I also take a 325mg aspirin in the morning (xarelto in the evening).  I will ask my EP when I see him, but I eat garlic, ginger, and other foods.

I wasn't really self-conscious about it. I didn't even know I had one until around six or seven years old. I just thought I had a rock in my side.
