You know you're wired when...
You need to be re-booted each morning.

I have had my pacer since 2005. At first it ruled my life. It took some time to calm down and make the mental adjustment. I had trouble sleeping and I worried a lot about pulling wires. Now I just live my life as I wish.
Pacemaker 'yes', ICD probably not

There are folk here with more precise knowledge of the intricate workings of the UK DVLA. In theory a car-driving instructor is probably ok if you have a PM. An ICD rules you out of driving anything until you'e had a year with no defib events. And the heavy vehicles and PSV may well be a no.
