I got a chuckle out of this one!

I shaerd in another post about how bad I felt after physical activity - totally washed out in fact.

I attributed it to my heart rate not getting to the level it needed to meet my oxygen requirement for what I was doing.

A close friend called me and asked how it went ...he knew I was going to attack the gym yesterday afternoon.

I explained to him my theory which was supported by evidence and how I would soon be going to the doctor with hope they could tweak my PM to help.

He has been with me every step of the way checking on me and offering encouragement.

After I got home ...still feeling washed out and weak..... I got a text alert on my phone from my friend -

"hey I was just thinking. you said your heart rate wasnt up enough right?"

ME: "yes"

Him : " OK thats easy...next time you go to the gym jump on the eliptical for 30 minutes and it will get your heart rate up. then you will be good to go"

Me: "maybe Ill try that"

It made me smile and thankful someone had listened and gave consideration on how to help me.

Ill never tell him that as a I have a strong image to protect - no toucht feely stuff among the guys.

a note about us guys ..... its in our DNA to fix stuff for people whether they ask or not...and sometime we do!

If you want to crank your heart rate up, an elliptical is probably too smooth. Try skipping rope. That oughta shake your PM up.

thats a definitely an idea - but I would need two people to hold each end of the rope!
