New one in me

I am about to do a nuclear ☢️ treadmill stress test - they just told me they will chemically dialate my arteries because walking or running on a treadmill with a pace maker would produce inaccurate readings ??????

I have had several over the years - all the basically going to exhaustion in the treadmill variety then collapsing under a camera for pictures of my heart .

iam physically fine to do the treadmill but was told with a PM and the movement the readings wouldn’t be accurate ?

today was : injected with a tracer ....wait 30 minutes ..... photographed for 14 minutes.

then injected with a chemical to dialate arteries which is like a super dose of nitro stat .  Immediate headache and increased breathing followed with BP at 106/60 ..... terrible feeling . (This takes the place of work in the treadmill )

wait another 30 minutes while drinking a caffeinated drink (I chose coffee ) and eating a pack of crackers .

Finally - 14 minutes of video wired for an ekg.

They let me leave so nothing 🚨 alarming was seen by the nuke tech

the protocol seems similar to what I’ve done in the past.

whats the protocol for these “new stress tests “ ?

Dang.........

Sorry Brother, those SUCK! I much prefer the ol' treadmill version. The chemical one made me so sick I couldn't go back to work. The treadmill version winds me a little and I'm back at it like nothing happened. Hopefully they'll be kinder to you next time!

Yep

I had it Tuesday - they said with a PM they couldn’t get an accurate reading because of vibration .

you are right the chemical thing does suck - it was like a giant dose or nitro stat - immediate headache 🤕.....breathing increased then my BP dropped ..I felt like trash .

good news is they said the blood flow looked “great “

not as high

your posted upper limit is above mine but because we have upper limits the treadmill test is often useless on us as they cant get us to or push our limits.  so they do it chemically.  aint no thing.  I know you are fit and all that, for me it was the injection, hey go have breakfast for a bit, here is a coupon for the cafeteria, need you to eat something, come back ekg done.  aint no thing.

You know you're wired when...

You fondly named your implanted buddy.
