SSS and brady - tachy

I am at the stage of taking a 30 day event monitor from EP  for possible pacemaker. Have a right bundle branch block and I think I am brady - tachy,  Interested in different pacemaker choices for SSS and any experiences anyone has on a pacemaker for brady tachy.

If you have SSS and chronotropic incompetence then it's all about the PM's capabiities

SSS+CI means that you depend on your PM to raise your HR (which should raise your cardiac output, so that you can climb stairs, dance, exercise etc.).

Your PM can't measure anything physiological to work out that you need a higher HR, so it has to use proxies - an accelerometer +/- something else - to drive the rate response algorithm.

There are big differences between brand/model capabilities for this.

And your EP doc may be interested in the software capabilities to avoid excessive tachy episodes for you.

Time for a long conversation about what you like to do - in real detail - and discuss the various options.

I'm very happy with my BostonSci Accolade - I swim, run and cycle, and the road cycling is the big challenge for PMs - little that drives the accelerometer - and it's been tuned specifically for me.

I'm 35 and got my pacemaker a little over a year ago. It definitely is not a burden to me. In fact, I have more energy (which my husband enjoys), can do more things with my kids and have weight because of having the energy.
