Covid19 ap

Does anyone know if the new Ap in Australia to download onto an iPhone to identify nearby Corona sufferers is harmful to my pacemaker?

Probably not a concern...

Only your EP and device manufacture can give you an absolute answer, but I'm in high tech and am familiar with how the app works. It uses a bluetooth beacon every five minutes to poll for other phones nearby. Bluetooth signals should not cause an issue with a PM, otherwise we'd all be dropping dead, since everyone uses bluetooth headphones, keyboards, car connections, etc. Even if you don't have your app downloaded, ten people around you will and they emit the same bluetooth signal, so it must be safe. That said, I don't think anyone would advocate keeping your phone directly on top of your PM or storing it in a breast pocket, although I have been known to do so with no issues.
