steroid shot

has anyone tried a steriod shot for their shoulder pain from pacemaker surgery.

Depends a lot what you mean by 'Shoulder pain'.  Shoulder *tip* pain suggests irritation of the diaphragm which should be investigated as a matter of urgency.

Pain near the shoulder due to the PM pocket should go quite quickly, apart from twinges as you move and stretch (these can happen for months afterwards).

Pain in the shoulder joint (perhaps from excessive immobilisation) won't be easy to manage, but active physio is probably the best.

IIRC, steriod injections into the shoulder capsule have a poor track record for effectiveness.
