pacemaker after NCS/vasovagal

Does anyone have this problem - have had a PM for almost 4 years. Lifetime of vaso vagals but every 4-6 weeks I get periods of what I call brownouts (I dont blackout) It is like Im going to crash and then it passes off lasts about 1 minute.
They usually start in the early morning (wakening me from sleep) and continue on a roughly hourly basis and then just disappear sometimes only 4-5 sometimes more No idea what precipitates them or why they just go. Drs are stumped

brownouts / de jevu feelings

Hi sparky,
Yes I get that too, sometimes. It is really weird. It seems to be worse if I am stressed and jet lag will always bring on an attack. I also get them 4-5 times in one days and then not again for a month or so.
I have had my pacemaker for 6 yrs now. The 1st 2 years nothing happened, then I went overseas and had one of those days, then another year until the next attack. Then for about 2 yrs an attack about every month (I was stressed at work at this time). I finally had the rate drop response feature turned on and although I can still have these days they are not as bad and I have now not had a bad day for almost a year.
It is a wierd feeling in that if you get an attack the thoughts that you have in your head at the time go round and round. I also turn white and get that pre-faint feeling.
Hope this helps
Robin

Vaso Vagal

I also have Vagal problem, for many years prior my PM which was 17 years ago. At the time I was assured by my Cardiologist that a PM will take care of this problem. Not so, still have it come on with Flu onset but not anywhere as bad. I did fall with my last attack and ended up with a broken nose. I don't know if everyone feels the same with with these attacks but I feel like I'm about to die just before everything goes black which has only happened twice in my life.

I keep Compazine suppositories around which help a lot keeping the nausea and vagal from acting up with any digestive disorder. I've learned over the years that my PM does have some control but not completely. DonB

It's much better to live with a pacemaker than to risk your life without one.
